Projects

The Rotary Year runs from July 1 to June 30, so these projects are organized by those dates.

Our 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 projects include:

  • Columbia Falls Dictionary project – handed out 150 dictionaries to 2nd and 3rd graders in the Flathead Valley.
  • Sponsoring 2 orphan girls for school, clothes room and board in Zambia.
  • Sponsored 2 Columbia Falls high school kids to attend RYLA Leadership Camp in Helena
  • Paid for swimming lessons for 7 kids in CFalls.
  • Held game event for kids at Heritage Days
  • Held 5th Wednesday social events throughout the year.
  • President-Elect attended President-Elect Training Seminar in Seattle
  • Got club website going.
  • Grew by about 25%, consisting of young (under 40) members.
  • Club’s members are once again 100% sustaining Rotary Foundation members
  • 4 members are Rotary International Benefactors
  • Helped several days building the Habitat for Humanity houses in CFalls.
  • Adopted a piece of Highway 206 for trash pickup – which includes signs with the club name on them.
  • Volunteered at Columbia Falls Food Bank and in conjunction with a Rotary District Simplified Grant, funded 70 Christmas dinners.
  • Through a Rotary International grant, provided $24,500 funding for handicap access and restroom at the newly-refurbished city tennis courts.
  • At least one officer attended 3 area assemblies in the Flathead.
